Tanzania is home, not only to magnificent animals, but also to over 120 tribes. With this itinerary you will experience an adventure into the wonderful wildlife and we will introduce you to two of the fascinating tribes.
Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara
Today, after breakfast, we drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, where you can enjoy the beauty of the lake and its wildlife. The park is most famous for its tree-climbing lions. It is also a bird-watchers paradise with over 400 bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite or lodge/tented camp.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast we head to Serengeti National Park with a packed lunch. The Serengeti’s endless plains provide an exceptional landscape for wildlife viewing. This park has been featured in many wildlife documentaries. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite or lodge/tented camp inside the park.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day in Serengeti and enjoy the unique atmosphere for a day. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite or lodge/tented camp inside the park.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Sunrise game drive in Serengeti at 6am to view the sunrise and wildlife. In the afternoon we will drive to Ngorongoro. Lunch in the park. Game drive along the way to dinner and overnight stay at campsite or lodge/tented camp at the crater rim.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Eyasi
Get up early at 6am to descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a day of wildlife viewing. Early morning is the best time to glimpse big cats on the hunt. This is one of the best parks in Africa to see all the animals of the Big5 (incl. the very rare black rhinoceros) in one day. After our game drive we drive to Lake Eyasi for your dinner and overnight stay at campsite or lodge/tented camp.
Day 6: Lake Eyasi – Arusha
Head out to go hunting at 5:30am with the Hadzabe Bushmen, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes left in Africa. Thereafter tour the blacksmiths who weld bangles and arrow heads. Then on to visit the Datoga tribe, who are nomadic cattle herders. In the afternoon we will be driving back to Arusha.
