There are so many places to choose from when visiting beautiful Italy and when exploring the villages on the Italian coast you really cannot go wrong.

Each place has a magic of its own!

Here are some of the wonderful places on offer:

Venice, Cinque Terre & Portovenere

Venice, a very rich history filled with Courtesans, home to Casanova, travelling the Canals in Gondolas and getting lost down the tiny alleyways.  Also, it is worth taking a short boat ride to the islands of Murano and Burano.

Cinque Terre is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline. In each town you’ll find pretty colorful houses with vineyards clinging to steep terraces and harbors filled with fishing boats.

Portovenere is a medieval fishing village and is well worth the visit. It’s picturesque harbor is lined with brightly colored houses while narrow medieval streets lined with shops lead up the hill from the ancient city gate to the castle.

Siena & San Gimignano

Siena is famous for its medieval cityscape and the Palio, a horse race held twice a year.

San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany and you get to see the beautiful tuscan countryside from the tower.

 Florence, Rome & Vatican City

Florence famous, of course, for the Duomo (Cathedral) and Ponte Vecchio (Gold Bridge) and an excellent place to base yourself to explore Tuscany.

Rome goes without saying, why you need to see this place…..Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, Spanish Steps, just to name a few!

Vatican City is a must. St Peter’s Basilica, the Museums and of course the Sistine Chapel (even if you are not religious you can’t miss seeing it).

Sorrento, Amalfi Coast and Capri

Sorrento has a charm of its own and is a base to explore the Amalfi Coast, island of Capri and is famous for its lemons and limoncello.

Amalfi Coast a wonderful coastline to explore with some stunning beaches and a short hop across to the Island of Capri.

Bolonga, Lucca & Padua

Bolonga is also known as La Rossa or the red, for its terra cotta rooftops. It’s a medieval city so you will find beautiful cathedrals and historic buildings and points of interest including: Palazzo della Mercanzia, Palazzo del Podestà and Fountain of Neptune.

Lucca is another beautiful village worth a stop, attractions include: Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro, Puccini’s Birth Home, Palazzo Pfanner and Torre delle Ore.

Padua is the setting for most of the action in Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and points of interest here include: Scrovegni Chapel, Palazzo della Ragione and Prato della Valle.
