Guide for Mardi Himal Trek

Mardi Himal Trek is a great option to consider if trying to escape the throng of the busy trekking routes of Annapurna. You will see staggering perspectives and enjoy trekking routes such as Ghorepani Poon Hill trek and Khopra trek. Mardi Himal Trek is a moderately new trekking course in the Annapurna locale with dynamite perspectives of the Annapurna Himalayan range. It’s a quiet trekking course with not very many trekkers en route.

In spite of the fact that settlements are scarce and therefore, sustenance found along the way is minimal, Mardi Himal Trekking is a pleasant course, which requires little exertion. It is a seven day trek comprising short climbs and drops each day. The Tea houses on Mardi Himal Trek are fundamental and offer just basic things to trekkers. The trail leads through little twisting pathways, passing incredible rhododendron backwoods, until arriving at the woods camp at a height of 3300 meter. Ascending to the High Camp, the scenery is truly beautiful with the peaks of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna and Hiunchuli all appearing in the vista.

Best Time

Pre-winter (Sept. to Nov.) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek. The climate is bright and warm with wonderfully clear perspectives. However, if you are looking for absolute solitude and would appreciate even more alone time with nature this trek can be undertaken mid winter (Dec, Jan, Feb). Be that as it may, the temperature amid winter can feel pretty raw for visitors not used to it. Trekking in the Summer or Monsoon season (June to Aug) will be influenced by rain, but may appeal to keen botanists!

Route

Mardi Himal Base Camp is the focal point of the Mardi Himal trek; the whole Annapurna Mountain range can be viewed when you achieve the High Camp.  However, Low Camp (2,990 m) is the best spot to get a great perspective of Machapuchhre. The three well known mountains – Fishtail (6,993 m), Annapurna South (7,010 m) and Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m) are the fundamental features of this Mardi Himal campaign. The journey starts moving toward Pitam Deurali from Pokara, a two and half hour walk. Pushing forward is 3-4 hrs of trek for each day untill you arrive at Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500 m, which is a constant day climb of 6-7 hrs from Low Camp (2,990 m). More often than not this is achieved on the fifth day when you will arrive at Mardi Himal Base Camp. It again, takes approx 6 or 7 hours to make it to High Camp. Acclimatization won’t be an issue on this trek since trekkers get adequate time to rest, in addition to it being typically no more than 3-4 hours of walking a day, easily manageable, even for new trekkers.

Permits

Permits are extremely important when trekking in Nepal. You need an Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and TIMS Card (Tourism Information Management System). It is possible to acquire these independently however, it is recommended that you use the available assistance from Your Guide or the voyaging organization you have arranged your trip through, who can deal with these papers for you.
