Cyprus is an amazingly inviting, historical, beautiful and friendly island and a perfect mix of ancient and modern.
Its subtropical climate, very mild winters (on the coast) and warm to hot summers, make it an excellent all year round holiday destination. Snow and therefore winter sports are possible in the Troodos Mountains, in the central part of the island. Rain occurs mainly in the winter season, with summers being generally hot and dry.
If you are shivering and miserable in deepest dark winter, why not plan a trip to sunny Cyprus? Easily accessible by air from most parts of the world, with international airports in Larnaca and Paphos, the latter being the one usually used by tourists.
Resorts, hotels (some with spas), self-catering apartments and villas are abundant, lots with their own pool and breath taking views. Eating out is a pleasure and the choice is immense, the only problem is choosing where!
There are many activities to take part in on this small but very diverse island, try: golf, fishing, wreck diving, scuba diving in the crystal clear warm sea, relaxing on the beautiful clean beaches, eating delicious fresh Cypriot food, drinking local wines in traditional tavernas and/or visiting the vineyards which produce them, walking, hiking, running a marathon, skiing in the Troodos Mountains, visiting the many historical sites, sailing/yachting, water sports and boat hire.
You can keep the kids happy at a water park, windsurfing, skating, paragliding, cycling, watching a show or the ballet, or why not witness one of the many festivals or visit an adventure park, even just swimming in the sea or playing on the beach.
Soon to be opened, a new casino, which will be Cyprus’ first and there is plenty on offer for art and culture lovers too with cinemas, cultural centres, galleries, museums, theatres and more.
