The first thing we noticed when we arrived at the Marti Hotel Icmeler were the fantastic pools, how could you not, the whole resort is built around them!  Gorgeous blue loops weaving in and out of the restaurants and bars, so inviting in the hot June sunshine.

We were really lucky to have a suite (well worth the upgrade by the way) overlooking the pool – it was the most amazing view every morning – beyond the pool we could see right out to the turquoise sea.  We expected the food to be good, as the hotel had such a good rating, but it surpassed our expectations. Theme nights, BBQs and traditional Turkish food were all on the menu and being all inclusive, I expect we put on about half a stone, we just couldn’t say no to such delights.  Everywhere was so clean and tidy and the staff were so pleasant, really topping off what was a perfect holiday.

There were plenty of excursions to choose from, our favourite being the traditional Turkish bath, look for the less touristy ones and you will get much more for your money.  We explored much of the area on our own, being close enough to walk to Marmaris for a night out and there were plenty of markets and bars along the beach in both directions.  We even took a speedboat out with another couple that we met, which was certainly an adventure!

We have already booked to go back to the resort this year, having tried for two years in a row to find the same experience in another country, and not able to.  I understand this year they have also built an indoor spa pool, which we are looking forward to enjoying after the sun goes down and before cocktails on the roof top bar.  Can’t wait!
